Tired tonight. It's birthday season again, so I've been in the midst of a sewing marathon. Bigger than usual, because Imp is turning 8 this week and is getting baptized next Saturday. White can be pretty translucent (if not quite transparent) even when dry. I know I'm always careful when buying blouses, though sweaters are usually okay. And I've never bought white slacks! I always feel I can see pink legs through them.

This is quite a project you've got here, embroidery and all. I remember my mother making the wedding dress for one of my sisters. It was made from a peach silk sari with silver embroidery, over a satin underdress of the same colour. (Transparency again!) Very time-consuming making clothes from scratch.

It all sounds lovely; and I'm sure she'll look charming.

I'll post pictures once I finish.

It takes me about 3 days to make and fully finish a normal dress. Two if I push, do nothing but sew, and put in an 18-20 hour day.

I swear, one of these days, I will send in pictures to Project Runway with the caption, "THIS was made by one of those home sewers y'all love to insult."
