Anyway, this is the first Heroes I've wrote in a while... Since my hope_in_sight fic for perdiccas, in fact! Nice to revisit my boys.

I wanted to read mumblemutter´s original fanficion first, and I did it today. And now I can say that I am really impressed. The Wall has become my most important episode of Vol 5, and I believe that Peter can only free himself by forgiving Sylar (and the rest of his painful world where family members betray each other and sacrifice him and all that nice stuff). I hated to see that, but I believe that to be the only road to redemption for Peter. Hatred and pain held him captive, while his ability to let go releases him from his inner prison. But your story and the way Peter treats Sylar is so gratifying!!! Yes to his anger, yes to his need for revenge- and yes to his ambiguous feelings for Sylar- Sylar being Sylar on the one hand, and Peter´s need for Sylar because he is the only "thing" that´s left of Nathan on the other. I like the way in which you describe them (Peter being so raw and vulnerable, while Sylar sees through him but accepts anything that Peter puts him through), that there is such a fine line between need and hate, and ( ... )

(late reply, whoops!)

I'm glad you like the poetry quote in this-- something else I took inspiration from in the original story.

The subject of Peter's continuing redemption is so fascinating to me, and The Wall setting is a great place to explore it. I'm glad that his actions and Sylar's rang true for you. Things certainly change when you're trapped together with only one other person for a long period of time.

Anyway, thanks for reading, and for taking the time to comment!

I'm impressed! I think you did an excellent job portraying Peter and Sylar's complicated dysfunctional relationship. It's interesting to see some Petlar that takes place before Peter forgives Sylar for killing Nathan.

Speaking of Nathan, the Peter/Nathan stuff just fits in this story. I won't lie, I do ship them a little because they're just so damn touchy-feely that it's hard not to. I liked Peter punching Sylar when he brought that up and refusing to speak with him for a few months.

Oh, and is Sylar trying to use Pavlov's Conditioning on Peter by doing that neck-touching stuff? I think that's definitely something Sylar would do.

I do consider Petlar to be canon as of the last two episodes and I think it's possible that their relationship could actually be functional. Still, it's interesting to explore their relationship being dysfunctional and unhealthy while they were in the dream world.

Thanks very much. Sylar and Peter have such a strange relationship, I never get sick of exploring the angst between them. I'm an unapologetic Nathan/Peter shipper, so it just made sense for me to sprinkle a little of that in here, especially since it fits to well into this conflict.

Thanks for reading, and for taking the time to comment!
