Part of me want to squee so much and part of me want to cry for Peter. He such a martyr yet at the same time he's such a woobie.

Awesome fic.

I understand the two different directions--squee vs. cry. Peter just wants to be a hero, but Arthur... Well... He's sort of a bastard. I'm glad you enjoyed it!

Yes he is. It breaks my heart to see how the years of abuse have Peter believing that this is all he is good for.

Aww, Peter my love. Arthur is such an asshole, what nerve taking Nathan's memories, and the way he humiliated Peter...*cry*. I could see Arthur doing this so clearly too, and that scared me, old man Petrelli always scared me in the show. Of course Peter would want Nathan to forget, but at the same time, it felt better for him when Nathan knew. Goddamned Petrellis. But good follow-up to the first one. Can't wait for the next one, if there will be one.

I agree that Arthur is a scary, scary man. He clearly knows how to hurt Peter in the worst possible ways, and he's just evil enough to take advantage. And Peter does have that whole sacrificing-himself-for-other-people addiction thing that would cause him to put Nathan's welfare ahead of his own.

I'm not sure if there will be a sequel... Don't really know where it could go from here (because how could it get worse?!), but I never say never. Thanks for reading!

THERE'D BETTER BE A SEQUEL AND IT HAD BETTER END HAPPILY

.......... *deep breath*

Forgive me. I have spoken loudly.

It's a strange feeling to love your stories and yet be upset by them. That said, if only Volume 3 had been like this. In character, so well written....

Sorry to get you all riled up--those Petrellis and their family drama tends to have that effect. But I'm glad the characterization rang true for you. I don't know if I can guarantee a sequel (let alone that it would end happily), but who know? New episodes start soon, and maybe I'll be inspired in another direction... Mwah ha ha!

First, dear, thank you for your comment. Detailed comments make writing worthwhile, and your comments always make my day! So. I agree that this arc was never going to end in happiness and sunshine, so I'm glad I got across that sense of dread. And yeah, you're right to be nervous for Peter whenever I'm writing, but especially when Arthur is involved. Although, y'know, I have to raise my hand with an amen for Arthur/Peter still being wrongly, disturbingly, hot. But we've established many times how much we like to see Peter in emotional and physical pain, and Arthur can do that so well, perhaps better than any other character. The original idea for the piece came from Arthur, and the very first thing I wrote was the dialogue of Arthur emotionally torturing Peter. And the rest just sort of flowed from there ( ... )

Arthur is a frightening muse. And when he speaks, I've just gotta listen. And as far as who's the evilest villain in the land... I'd say stay tuned for some Samedi action. I've just gotten to those episodes in my rewatch... Mmmm... chains....

Poor Peter, damn Nathan, terrible dad... and awesome you!

This is definitely going to my memories right alongside the prequel!

Hahaa, I hadn't even thought of bringing in the Haitian, although picturing Nathan with a gun wasn't too hard XD Nice Heroes-like twist there!

Thanks so much! Yeah, Nathan and his guns... Mmmmm. I just don't think he'd take the situation well, y'know? And the Haitian is the best plot device ever. Thanks Heroes writers for your crazy deus-ex-machinas. Glad you liked!
