Fic: Lot's Wife

Jan 09, 2009 17:04

Why this week is awesome: took a dance class downtown, had a great first rehearsal, went on a passable first date, got a directing proposal approved, and have planned the Day of Stuff I Like to Do for my birthday: posting fanfic, eating Indian food, taking a leisurely bath, reading, and hanging out with my dear friends (for beer and bowling). Does ( Read more... )

Oh, PETER. And oh, I hope nathan doesn't take this turn in full - I hope there's a reason of GOODNESS behind it all, but....

Lovely fic.

Thanks! I also hope Nathan doesn't really go there. I want him to have some master plan as to how this is all for the good... And aa few episodes down the road we'll have some flashbacks showing how he really set all this up just to...um... do something good...? A girl can hope. And no matter what, nothing can break up the bros.

How very interesting that both of us turned to Lot for inspiration for the "biblical" prompt. I think you stuck a little closer to the source material, though - I really like all the other references, the forty days in the desert and the allusion to the mustard seed. It was kind of like blending the fire-and-brimstone aspects of the Old Testament to the redemption offered by the New.

Very well-written, I really like what you do with imagery: New York City was quiet, as if it were holding its breath in particular stood out.

It is strange that we both went right to Lot. I blame the fact that the song "Lot's Wife" from Caroline or Change is a smashing song, and had come up an unlikely amount of times last week while shuffling my iPod. In any case, I'm glad you liked the biblical allusions. Gotta put my Catholic upbringing to use somewhere, so why not in fanfic, I say! Thanks for your kind words.

Wow, I loved this glimpse into Peter and Nathan's relationship. Also, fantastic use of the prompt! The last two lines were really powerful.

Thanks so much. I loved this prompt when I saw it: so much potential for epic angst in the Petrelli family, really. I struggled over the ending, so I'm glad you liked it.

It was funny, he thought, how letting go of his belief in someone else strengthened his belief in himself. He felt powerful. Frightened and alone and betrayed, but powerful.

I love this. :)

( And now I'm waiting for Nathan to return and prove him wrong. *gg* )

Thank you!
