Hey guys, I need a little help here. This is for anyone who's seen either of the Star Wars: Musical Edition DVDs (2003 or Trilogy version)-- what moments or clips from the DVDs do you think would best represent the show to someone who never saw it live? Yeah, with the Trilogy DVD the audio is a *huge* issue. I would love to use some One Night In Bespin stuff but ugh, the audio, so bad. If I get started ranting I won't stop, so I shall say nothing more.

We do have a separate audio recording of the '03 version, which I have in mp3 format.

The 'West Side Story' song on Tatooine with the droids. Are you gonna put some clips up on Youtube or something? You really should, if not. :D

Followed in the 2003 show with the Uncle Owen, Aunt Beru and Luke dinner scene ("This milk is blue" "What did we just *sing* about!?" "He's not much of a dancer"). It certainly captured the respect for the original film with just the right amount of twinkle-in-the-eye irreverance.

And since it didn't make Trilogy, we can have it for posterity. Good suggestion!

Good idea, the dancing Jawas and droids and all. I hadn't thought about Youtube but you're right, that is a good idea!

I think one of the, dare I say, iconic moments of the show has been the stormtrooper tapdance tag (i.e. the Imperial Striptease).

Maybe a big, brash production number that shows the stage as a big tableau and shows off a lot of crazy costumes? That seems like it would work well.

The first thing that comes to mind is Luke/Vader "Pirates" duel from Act V

See, I would go for that, but the filming of the duel was really not so good. Maybe I can find a piece of it that works well.
