There was a perfectly good reason that he was standing outside uncovered save for a pair of pants. He was practicing. It had been a long time since he had even dared to manipulate raw sunlight, since he even considered trying. But the situation had changed ( Read more... )

Jamie's jaw was clenched to the point of creaking, banging things around in their small kitchen in effort to distract himself from what Kirin was doing outside. At least long enough until he decided he really didn't mind another argument and dragged the other man back inside by means of sheer manpower.

"Still being stupid?" Jamie retorted under his breath, fingers curled around the edge of the countertop, glowering into the sink.

Letting out a sigh, he turned in Kirin's arms, eyes roving over unblemished skin, as if he could tell the damage done merely by sight. He knew better.

"You know me, I'm very smart," Kirin sighed and gave the glowering man a quick hug before he stepped back.

"I hate this as much as you do, you know that."

Jamie let out a disgusted sigh. "This isn't...we did what we were supposed to. We fixed it. And it still..."

He shook his head, the words tasting childish in his mouth, but keenly felt.

"It's not fair."
