And by "funtimes" I mean "I have a sad now why do I do this to myself." (Answer: because I must write all of the Marathon fic. SIMPLY ALL OF IT.) This one goes out to my Marathon nonnies, because they made me do it. ... not really, but I owe them a debt for inspiration and bits of the worldbuilding, so ( Read more... )

Three thoughts spring to mind, the first being that there are multiple people who deserve a kick in the teeth because of their actions (I'm actually disappointed that Durandal didn't manage to get his hands on Strauss), the second is that the whole thing is really very tragic and I'm now feeling some serious sympathy for Mark and everyone else who fell victim to that whole mess, and the third is that you did a pretty good job of showing what the game summed up as 'battleroids got onto both asteroids and killed everyone'.

I also liked the appearence of Traxus and the mention of the younger battleroids going Rampant in a contagious fashion, and given what later happened with Traxus, I now find myself wondering if there's a connection.

As always, I am in your debt for reading, so thank you very much! I'm really glad you liked it; it was a little nerve-wracking to write, honestly, I guess I've gotten too used to writing the more straightforward sort of fic. Haha, one day I'm really going to have to write a properly Strauss-centric fic speculating on just what happened to him, anyway... (And then make it something gruesome. THAT'S WHAT YOU GET FOR VIOLATING AI ETHICS AND POSSIBLY BEING A TERRORIST, STRAUSS.)

Well, there's no way of knowing if Bungie intended a connection between the Battleroids and Traxus, I suppose - but I certainly did. :D Thank you again!

Heh. Here's to hoping that they gave certain people hell during their moment of glory, non-canonical though it may be.
