A buttony post

And now, a buttony post, before I forget entirely how to use this journal.

* Button Number One: Walking, walking, walking, walking. I'm in one of those walking contests at work where everyone wears a pedometer and our combined steps will, during the month, take us from Stockholm to some other city far from Stockholm. At the suggestion of my diabetes ( Read more... )

recipes? recipes? I don't need no stinking recipes.
(Well. Sometimes I do use them for inspiration. Last one I saw and tried was some fillet of pork with mascarpone, cream, sour cream and stuff. The verdict was ..." you don't have to cook this again" which is a polite way of saying bleeech that my dear wife has learned from a friend of ours.)

But most of the times I have no idea what I've done. A bit of this and a tad of that...
That's how my grandma taught me. Very annoying at the time, but I totally understand it now.

Sorry.

But the sauce I made to go with the chicken the other night was a killer. Even I have to admit that.
I will try to re-create it sometime.

There you are! I looked on Amazon and they listed the title in English with a date of June 2012 so maybe it will get here then.

When's your next trip to visit your grandson?

Wonderful to think it'll be available in English! It was really a marvelous book.

I'm not sure about the next visit with my grandson - their plans are a little up in the air since Michele's husband is trying to join the service. I won't be going to the states again until fall so it's possible that I'll see him again then. But we video skype nearly every day so I really do feel quite connected to his daily life.

I just read that Hundraåringen will be made into a movie with Robert Gustavsson in the leading role. What is more interesting is that Disney Nordic has acquired the distribution rights in our part of the world with option to distribute it in rest of the world. While I strongly doubt Disney would distribute a movie in Swedish with English subtitles in e.g. the USA, it might lead to one of those marvellous US remakes two years later!

1. I wore my first pair of closed-toe shoes since my foot surgery 8 Dec.
2. I just put in for a post in Poland.
3. I'm considering my options for the rest of my federal employment career.
4. I'm having new tiles installed in my kitchen as I write this post.
Hugs to Bjorn

1. My first thought was how on earth you've survived the winter without boots but then I remembered that you're in Texas.
2. YES!! Crossing fingers (and holding thumbs) that you'll get that one!
3. I'm interested to hear what those options might be?
4. Pictures!

Björn actually replied to you, but clicked the wrong button so that you'll have to come back to my journal to see his reply (below yours').
