* I am so glad that I flew home before the volcano in Iceland blew its top. I have a colleague who stayed an extra week in the states to visit his family in California. I have another colleague who had planned a two-week vacation in New York. He's still there, waiting to come home to Finland and she's still here hoping to salvage some of her long- ( Read more... )

I can make the pancakes, but I DO miss Mrs. Butterworth's syrup.

If you have a recipe for the pancake mix I would LOVE to get it from you.

I have to use sugar-free syrup, which of course doesn't exist here (hardly anything made for diabetics exists here), so I always buy a bottle or two when in the states.

Actually I imagine I would have been held over in Atlanta, so no Michele. But I did not stay long enough this time to visit my family in the Atlanta area, so you're right - it would have given me the family visit I missed!

I enjoyed reading your adventures in London, by the way. We stayed at a hotel in Strålsund Germany with "free wi-fi". Turned out to mean that I was welcome to walk about half a mile to the main hotel office and use the one computer they had available for guests. Sheesh!

So glad you made it back before the chaos! It's really starting to freak me out a little. No planes in the sky for days is REALLY eerie.
