Candles to remember by

This evening I got to experience yet another new tradition - the visiting of a cemetary and the lighting of candles for those who have gone on.

It's All Saint's Day (Allahelgonsdag in Swedish).

When we arrived at the churchyard in Trelleborg, the sun had already gone down. We have, of course visited that churchyard several times since Kjell's passing ( Read more... )

Our cemetery was very quiet today, though there were a lot of people there. I think I prefer julafton to visit, because there is usually snow on the ground. We go at dusk (ie after Kalle Anka, but before food and tomte) and often we are there alone, with the snow, the pretty pools of light dotted everywhere and the chance to have a quiet word to Edvin and now Evy as well.
