I love to read and I love being a member of a bookgroup.

Not long after I moved to Sweden my dear American friend lizardek hooked me up with the American Womens Club bookgroup. It was, at the time, perfect.

Oh, oh! I am about to read one of her other books - Wasted Vigil, so I'd be interested in your views of Maps for Lost Lovers.

I'm far too opinionated I think to be in a book group, but I do admire people who are able to do it. And in Swedish, too. You certainly are a champ.

Are the other participants experienced book group goers? If not, perhaps the librarian feels she needs to take charge of the group to start with, so it doesn't come to a halt before it has started. While I've never been part of a such group (I barely read books even, but that is another matter), I can see several points of distraction coming your way if nobody is there to manage the group.
