jealousy, you are your own ultimate self-destructive indulgence

[Parsee would never admit it, but the bitter taste in her mouth was the fault of the spiders.

The vicious, venomous spiders inside the turkey. Scuttling, hideous. Yet she didn't- couldn't trample them. It was almost ridiculously laughable if one thought about it; even with her sharp tongue and hateful diatribe, she was somehow just a bit too soft ( Read more... )

[Mayfield's shadows, it would seem, are refuge to an assortment of monsters tonight. Slugger has had his eye on Parsee for quite some time and though he's never targeted a demon before, she is close enough to being human as he needs her to be.

Careful not to make his presence known, he crosses into the backyard of the neighboring house before slipping soundlessly into the walls of the house itself. If Parsee is at home, he will find her there. If she isn't, he will wait for her to return.]

[ooc] For the sake of ic chronology, whatever happens in this thread will occur last. Note, it is perfectly fine to post after this thread.

[She'll slink back home later, satisfied at the trouble she's now reaped upon her own head- trouble she knows she'll pay for later. Unaware that there's anyone inside the house who isn't a drone, Parsee jiggles the doorknob and enters.]

[Upon entering the house, Parsee is met only with darkness, as though every light bulb in the house has long since cooled. And silence. None of the resident drones are awake to greet her, possibly not even alive to hear her. (Hey, it's been a while since he's used his bat. Bashing in their faces was good practice...)

But the darkness is not void of a presence. Something is there watching her, something that grins to itself unseen.]

[She doesn't seem to care much about the darkness- she doesn't even try to turn on the lights. And since she expects the drones to all be asleep, like the good little citizens that they are (oh, she could just puke), she thinks nothing of the quiet. Parsee won't sense this new (and yet not so new) intruder as she makes her way through the living room, heading for her bedroom. She's more than a little drained, not half as aware as she should be.]

[She passes him on her way, completely unaware. It isn't until Parsee reaches her bedroom door that Slugger decides to seep out from a wall behind her, quiet as a ghost. Hanging from his hand is an aluminum baseball bat spattered in half-congealed blood.

He follows her the short distance into the room, bat raised, and deliberately breaks the silence...]

Welcome home.

[Her hand, which had been reaching for the doorknob, freezes. Unseen, her green pupils contract in shock. A chill sparks down her spine and her breath sucks back in, locks in her throat, all in the space of a moment. Parsee begins to turn around, much too slowly.]

What-?

[The bat rings a dull note as it meets the side of Parsee's cranium in a forceful collision of bone and metal. It is sudden and resolute, though not enough to kill. Slugger has yet to remaster the art of killing with a single strike. But this time, delivery of an immediate death was never his intent...]

[She crumples to the ground in a heap, distantly feeling her lifeblood leak out through her skull. Her fingers twitch; her eyes are half-closed; her breathing slows. Someone attacked her. Someone- someone she knows? consciousness is a shutterflicking light, Parsee can't be sure - has just...killed her, right? She's dying, right?

Right.

That's...

Ahahahaha.

Incredibly, she's smiling.]

[Less incredibly, so is he. Nothing brings a smile to his face quite like bludgeoning the miserable.

Briefly, he stands by watching her bleed in detached ecstasy. He can see now, Parsee had not been lying when she'd told him she wanted to die. Now to fulfill her wish and finish the job.

Slugger takes a step closer, feet apart as he squares up for the second hit. He raises the bat and smashes it down upon her skull, rending bone from bone and making her head bloom into pieces like a smashed flower. When the task is complete, he slips away into the night, flecked with blood up to his knees, to return "home".]
