Our local public library has been migrating away from dumbterms for lookup to web based terminals, and I'm not so sure I'm in love with it - the old terminal stuff was easier to manipulate via computer/PDA. (And they let you use LYNX via their dialup terminal. Very nice back when internet connections were quite beyond my budget.)

I need to take a serious look into perl someday soon. Any books you'd recommend?

Both plain text and gui interfaces have their advantages and disadvantages. :/

I don't actually know that much about Perl myself...

Anyhow, a class here uses Perl: Fast & Easy Web Development and Learning Perl.
