This was bound to happen, even moreso when the technological turnover rate of electronics tries less and less to remain backwards compatible. This is probably the worst thing to happen for an organization that relies on technology that is effective, durable, and lasting.

On a side note, the way the naval shipyard head spoke (or was quoted) scared me.
