Room 227 [Thursday, daytime, after 3rd period]

Mar 23, 2006 12:51

Bridge is... still avoiding people. After ACJ, he heads right back to his room and shuts the door.

He's moved on from merely sorting all his stuff into cataloguing. There's even a spreadsheet. This is never good.

Yeah. So. Anytime now. There could be knocking.

Really.

Because it's just a door, and Xander's pretty sure... well, reasonably sure... it doesn't bite.

Unless it's been programmed just to bite him. Which...okay. Would maybe be fair.

Soonish, really.

*knock*

Bridge stops what he's doing and gets up to answer the door.

"Oh." He says, when he opens said door and sees who's standing out in the hall. "Uh. Hi."

"Hey." Because he's very articulate.

"What's up?" Bridge asks warily, opening the door wider and sort of vaguely making a gesture that could possibly be interpreted to mean Xander could come in.

And suddenly Xander's not so much pacing, as sitting. Dropping ungracefully on one corner of the extra bed, one leg bent and one splayed out, elbow balanced on the bent knee, chin propped on palm, fingers almost covering mouth.

"Yeah?" or possibly "Duh?" or possibly "Mrrph?" And then he moves his fingers, which is maybe not the best move because it makes him intelligible, but on the other hand, or rather on the same hand, with his chin propped this way he at least isn't looking at anybody when he adds, "The point is I didn't want to be."

"Why *not*?" Bridge asks, maybe a little incredulous.

"Because you're a guy?" Xander shoots back, just as incredulous, and momentarily forgetting that he's trying to avoid such dangerous pastimes as 'looking up' or 'making eye contact.'

Okay, so Bridge's first instinct is to just reply with, "So?"

Instead he opts for "Which is, I'm guessing, sort of a big deal for you."
