Well if you ask someone out and they say yes, then technically that is a date... whether you were friends beforehand or not. Did this particular person know that you considered this a date or did they think this was just hanging out. I think first you must be clear on what your intentions were or they will never know that you feel any differently. It's all in how you approach it I guess?!

If I went on a date with a friend, it would be obvious that it was more than friendship.

Friends will naturally have an awesome time together.

I hate to be negative nancy, but just be cautious about dating someone you have grown to be close friends with. Dating sometimes can take a toll on friendships if it doesn't work out. Just be careful and pray for God's direction.

Just to clear up that I am not trying to be so negative. I do believe that you should definitley be friends before you start dating, so.....you ARE off to a great start!
