That's quite a shame. I haven't watched any of the series yet, but just finished the first book and really enjoyed it. Do you know how much of the first season is from the first book, or if it takes things from later books or if it just kinda takes the concept withouth the same stories or what? I'm curious, but think I want to read at least one more book before checking out the series.

Either way, that sucks that it isn't renewed.

Only one episode, "Storm Front," is taken mostly from the book. The rest are original stories which are pretty true to the books, but not exact. You should read the other 8 books. SO FRAKKING GOOD.
