I read this on my phone on the train into work, so I forgot to leave a comment on SoA, but this was PERFECT. I loved every bit of it!! You play out the family dynamics between Elrond and his sons so well, and the "I will lead the patrol" was just the best twist. And the imagery at the end of him getting the arrow...gah, so many emotions! Also:

"No, Elrond could not turn to his sons with his fears. Valar, he missed Arwen."

I really enjoyed this glimpse into Imladris.

the picture of Elladan and Elrohir rings all too true - poor Elrond. He had so many worries - I'm inclined to think that the patrol would do him good too.
