Yay! You updated! I love this AU so much- I'm so delighted to see more of it, even if I've seen this part.

Can I throttle Adama in this? I get why he does what he does, but I'm still angry at him :) Especially when he tells Felix that no one deserves to be in a dark place all alone after sending him there himself. Which is total Adama. ::rolls eyes at him ( ... )

Thanks for the lovely review! S4 characterizations are *frustrating.* I promise you can throttle Adama when I'm done with him.

I'm still working out the ending for this, so as it comes together I might start spamming your inbox with new scenes/recut chapters/crazy ideas. I'm big on the crazy at the moment.

gahhhhh, I'd forgotten all about the torture scene. (or maybe blocked it!) That previous chapter is still so riveting and tense and eeeeeee. As if Felix needed MORE PTSD.

...but at least his snark is back. *wraps Felix in his blanket*

Somehow, I don't believe Adama when he says he'll give the mutineers "consideration". Meaning he'll consider who goes out the airlock first?

Wanting Hoshi to think that Felix was tortured = evil. grrrsmash! Oh Louis!!

*flails* don't stop there! eeeee!

. . . BIGGER PTSD

Yeah, I'm evil to the characters. Is it any wonder their muses run away from me?

Re Adama, say what you will about him (and I could say plenty), but he's pretty much a man of his word. If he says "I will kill you" you might as well finalize your will. If he says "I won't kill you" he probably means it. The thing is, he's intentionally being vague here because he doesn't know how things will play out. So, yeah, expect more suspense.

Thanks for the wonderful review! I'll try not to leave you hanging for too long.

I'm happy that you're continuing this story. It had a very intriguing beginning and this chapter was very suspensive, too.

I agree with what Mutant said about Adama. He's pretty infuriating in this. The whole conversation about whether Gaeta started the mutiny to make up for mistakes reminds me of something AJ said in an interview one time when asked if Gaeta started the mutiny because of what happened in the raptor- that Gaeta started the mutiny because he couldn't forget that the Cylons had committed genocide. I don't believe for a second he started the mutiny because of his personal issues, because he's better than that.

I'm curious about Hoshi's part in the upcoming chapters and I hope he won't be as easily played as the command staff expects.

Thanks for the review! Glad you're enjoying this.

Gaeta is such a fascinating character for me because he's so layered. On the one hand, he has ironclad ideals and a very acute sense of justice--a complete intellectual motivation for his actions. On the other, he has so many experiences and emotional associations that play into who he is as well. He doesn't acknowledge this side of himself and it certainly doesn't negate his well-grounded moral reasoning, but the two aspects are more mixed up than he's willing to admit.

I wrote this chapter to show him questioning himself--acknowledging his personal issues, but also testing the limits of his ideals and how much he's willing to endorse. He's just a fascinating character, and I'm enjoying exploring who he is.

Thanks for the awesome review!

Yeah, Adama is definitely strangle-worthy here. He also has a Head!Laura in his brain giving him manipulation lessons, and that's just not a good combination. He's at his scariest in his do-whatever-is-necessary mode.

Felix and Louis haven't had the easiest time, but there's hope for them yet. Maybe.
