It really does (though that might have something to do with the fact that Moore wrote it as he went along)! I love how a lot of the arcs function really well as mini-series because that makes it easier to hook in new fans.

My favorite SIP book (and the one I always recommend to newbies) is the High School/Xena graphic novel release because it showcases the best of Moore's dramatic and humor skills all in one short issue. And since it's a prequel, the reader doesn't get bogged down in the complicated love polygons and the Parker Girls conspiracy story.
