If you ever get the chance, watch the Jeeves and Wooster TV series, starring Hugh Laurie (plays House) and Stephen Fry (played Oscar Wilde in the movie Wilde). The series is over 15 years old now and being British as well might be difficult for you to find, but it's an excellent adaptation of the novels.
