On July 21, 1998, the Radcliffe Publishing Course compiled and released its own list of the century's top 100 novels, at the request of the Modern Library editorial board. Bold the books you've read and finished and italicize the books you've read but not finished

1. The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald

Hmmm, I've read LOTR, and that's it. Half the other stuff looks like the sort of books I automatically categorize as 'pretentious crap' and would have to be physically threatened to even consider reading.
