House MD Sherlock Holmes Connection

It's a fact that House MD is based on the Sherlock Homes stories, and that House himself is Holmes.
I've wondered though about all the other characters. Wilson is obviously a parallel to Watson, but what about Cuddy or even the team?

That's an interesting question. Being the author of eight novels featuring Irene Adler as the protagonist, I'd have to say that Cuddy is the closest parallel character to Irene. She and House have a constant battle of wits, but Irene Adler was the only woman to outwit Holmes and Cuddy usually fails. So, in that respect, Cuddy is like the Scotland yard detectives who end up being shown up by Holmes.

I have to agree that Cuddy does seem to have that position. She's the head of the hospital, like detectives/police are to law, and House is always breaking the rules because he needs to know the truth.

I was guessing that maybe Stacy was Irene Adler. She's really the only canon woman he's been with, and she can keep up with him. He got to her at the end though.

Great connections, they give a lot of food for thought.
I like that Foremon would be Inspector LeStrade. Foremon's kind of like House, but goes by differnt rules. He's in a different role.
I had to look up Moriarty in season 2 and I was so surprised that there was a character. I forgot all about that episode, before reading the summary. I'll need to watch it again.
If you can't find a female direct comparison for Cameron maybe she's a male in Holmes World or possibly a combination of people.
And I'd love to Fry come on the show and be a Mycroft-like character.
Hopefully we'll get more information in S4.
