I guess I don't really know if you want people to ask you questions or anything, but it's interesting how he changed from manual to automatic. That one crash must've had a huge impact on him I guess?
And I really love that kind of stormy weather. I'm amazed your dad drove in that... Once when I went to LA there was a very similiar storm, I've never seen anything like it since then, and it definitely occupies my mind when listening to "Riders on the Storm"
It's a really dark ending but I suppose it's definitely true. I think most people would be less afraid to die if they knew they were going to go in a calm place that they really like. For example, I can understand why hospital patients fear death so much being stuck inside those sterile walls...

The manual to automatic comment was a demonstration of decadence. It is merely because my father has grown old and complacent. There was never a physical crash... there was a metaphorical crash between he and I. We both crashed, you could say.
Yes, the thought of a beautiful death is very calming. I do not personally see it as a dark thing. Death is the only necessary condition of life. Indeed, to think of slowly dying in a wretched hospital is one of my truest nightmares.
