The thing about Sweets's scars is that yes, they look like whips, but they're not placed properly. They're across his shoulders on each side: exactly where they would be if he whipped himself across his body.

Oooo, really? I would never have known that. Interesting. I wonder if they'll dwell into that some more in the future.

So, you didn't get to see the end of the episode then? GAH! You really need to see it! STAT!!

I might be wrong, or reading way too much into them, but to me, they definitely looked self-inflicted. When people whip you, the scars are generally straight across, not angled on the shoulder. I dunno.

And now, having seen the end, ADORABLE. Man. Much as I hate where they're heading with this, I can't help but think every scene like that is so mind-blowingly adorable. :D

I might be reading way too much into the scars, but that's what it looked like to me. I just don't know why they wouldn't put the marks straight across his back if they wanted him to simply have been whipped.

It was so sad, and so adorable. I kind of hate their whole "foster parents are awful" thing - really? Do we need to keep dwelling on that? And dude, wasn't Brennan, like, 15 at that point? They made her sound like a 6-year-old. But she was very good in that scene, and Booth's face breaks my heart and makes me melt. So sad, and so adorable. And aw, poor baby Sweets!
