I was beginning to wonder: why do I never ship slash? I always say "it's not my thing," but that makes me feel vaguely dirty and homophobic. What's sad is that one is viewed as "homophobic" if they don't ship the slash because it's "not my thing", but when you present the "it's not canon" argument, you're viewed as narrow minded and unimaginative. I'm starting to think most of the slash peeps are just missin' a few screws altogether.

I don't think it makes you homophobic to not do slash. I love slash, but don't care for femmeslash. Does that make me homophobic? Ask my gay best friend, or the Obama Pride sticker I have, or the gay-friendly city I live in. Whatever turns your crank, it doesn't matter. :D

It's weird, because I don't consider myself at all intolerant of homosexuality (and I wasn't even when I was majorly religious about 8 years ago - that was about faith, not about other people), but one of my best friends, whom I'd known for 6 years before this (and had heavily suspected was gay anyway), was afraid to come out to me because he thought I'd judge him. That made me really sad. So I get kind of twitchy about this. :P

It IS adorable! I love them. And in the third book, they're dealing with the unstated issues that were apparent in the first two, so I'm really excited. They're talking about it! I'm excited. :D
