How much do I love this video? A LOT:

This definitely makes my top 3 Coldplay songs. The other two being, of course, "Viva La Vida" and "Clocks" (oh, and "Speed of Sound". Ok, 4). Everything else is basically the same.

ITA about everything here. I was always vaugely aware of Coldplay before "Viva La Vida"; I would hear "Clocks" or "The Scientist" and like them, but never enough to go out and get an album of theirs. But "VLV" was so good, and so cohesive and so gorgeous. It's versitile and accesible and has the ability to be peaceful or rockable. It's got insanely good melodies and wonderful lyrics. In short, ♥.

I had "Clocks" and "Speed of Sound" and "The Scientist" on my iPod, bought by my sister (I think), and I loved those three, but pretty much every other Coldplay song just didn't register. Which is why Viva La Vida was so fantastic, and I love it so, so much.

Also, with the possible exception of "Violet Hill", it's the perfect soundtrack for traveling by train across the French countryside at sunrise. You know, in case you're ever in that situation and need music. :D

Yeah, I kind of came late to the party on reviewing the album, but when it first came out everyone else was doing it and I didn't think I could say anything new. And then I found this video and LOVED it, so that's where this came from.

"Clocks" is a great song to fall asleep to. It's pretty and soothing. And "Viva La Vida" is, from an objective standpoint, totally overplayed, but I'm not sick of it in the least. :P

I think that was everyone's biggest complaint about Coldplay: that everything sounded the same. It's funny looking at the comments for this video, though: lots of people talking about how Viva La Vida is possibly their worst album, that only 3 of the songs were "worthy" of being singles, blahblahblah. I wanted to yell at them, "That's not what makes a good album! An album full of singles is NOT a good album!" But this is.
