Guys, I don't think I've told you this yet, and since I leave in three weeks, I feel like it should be said. Otherwise I'll forget and suddenly mention little things that won't make any sense

Aaah! Such awesome news! Now, I'm taking French this semester, so can you help me with it? Hahah just kidding, you'll be busy having loads of fun. Is Paris in the same timezone as the UK? In that case, you will be 5 hours ahead of the East Coast. It took me a while to get used to that when I was in Ireland.
You're not leaving for a few weeks but bon voyage anyway! (I use French!)
Thanks! :D And if you DO have a question about French, ask! I might be able to help. (Might. :P ) I think it might be 6 hours, actually, but that might just be Germany. I'm not sure. I'll have to find that out.
My solution for jetlag was quite inadvertant: I couldn't sleep on the plane, and when I got to Portugal it was almost noon, so I basically just stayed up for about 36 hours. I took a 2-hour nap in there somewhere, and I was kind of loopy by the end of the day, but a good 8 or 9-hour night and I was fine! :P
That's what the family friends said: the best way to learn French is to get a boyfriend who doesn't speak English. :P Of course, I'll probably meet an American, because that's how that works. Or something. :D
Oh my god...you're the SECOND person tonight to announce studying abroad plans! I'm SO happy for you! That's such an amazing experience...I really, really wish I could have an experience like that. It's really my biggest regret throughout my undergraduate career at UCLA...I never got studying abroad to work out for me. I would have loved to spend even just a quarter at Oxford.
You're going to have an amazing time!! I need PHOTOS!!!
Hee! That's an odd coincidence. I'm excited, but I'm a little nervous, too - I'm not quite sure my French is up to snuff. But I'm looking forward to it! And that's part of why I wanted to go to France - I would've liked to go to England, too, but I wanted to try to become fluent.
