do you have to take other subjects? isn't this kind of unhealthy obsession what a major that becomes a job that someone is actually passionate about is born out of?i mean, yes, you have to take some other classes to learn other stuff (that is also cool and may be vaguely related in interesting and unexpected ways), but you can focus on something for a semester or two without it hurting anyone. i mean... between now and next may I'm taking 5 english courses, 4 psych courses, and the requisite intro course for my other minor. and thats it. and it will rock. It's a lot healthier to be this obsessed with an academic field that can sustain it for more than a year or so than it is to be so obsessed with tv/books/pop culture (like I am ^_^ wheee obsession!). don't worry so much.
I don't have to declare a major until the end of sophomore year, so I figure I should be as diverse as possible until then, lest I suddenly say, "Anthro sucks. What was I thinking?"
I just found out, though, that half of the classes I really wanted to take don't exist/are only offered in spring, which means next semester isn't going to be as much fun as I'd thought.
