[Andrew annoys Spike a lot most of the time. Still, he is part of the team, so after Andrew had been blissfully quiet for too long, Spike took it upon himself to make sure the boy was all right.

I have looked into it, to the extent I'm able. Unfortunately, a survey is frequently useless, as you can imagine. Most of those who have returned, report being home, others have no idea that any time had passed. My best theory at the moment is that whatever means that brings us here is a function of the area of space that we're in and thus makes it a relative of the floods. No one reported any ill effects beyond time displacement. [This is Omega's way of saying 'sorry for your loss, seemed a decent bloke'.]

Maybe not dangerous, but bloody odd. Doesn't do for all these people to be popping off all the time. No way of knowing who's next or anything.

No, and that is something that does occupy my thoughts.

How often does it happen, Spike? People just disappearing?

Too often. It happened to my first inmate, and Drusilla, and... well, Buffy. She came back with no memory of ever having been here. That happens too.

There are others too, but no one specific comes to mind.

No. Or if you have, it was before I came.

He's not really my friend, exactly.

Yes, we should.

It's a little more difficult when people aren't here to ask afterwards, but we should.

[She seems pretty neutral..] He's really gone? You're sure.

I never did get an invite to his room, and I'm standing in the middle of it. Only it's empty.

So... yeah. Pretty sure.

[Slight frown.]

Oh. [Pause.] Think he's okay?

The general assumption here's that when people vanish, they go home.

[A beat.]

For wardens at least. Inmates... no bloody clue.
