I remember seeing some really huge slugs when I lived in Watertown. They would crawl out of rock walls along Belmont street at night. Even living in the woods, I haven't seen anything quite like that since.

This is the appropriately-named Leopard Slug, Limax maximus. They're introduced from Europe, but they don't cause any huge problems that I'm aware of.
