Determined to move forward

Day twelve or so of feeling down. I am sick and tired of this. I was a mopey shutin last night because of it, and a snappish and short-tempered one at that. Apologies to those who had to be around for that. I got a phonecall from rigel that was really sweet and concerned, and we had a nice chat. Beef brisket? I'm very curious: how do you cook it? I learned (from my mother) to sort of marinate it and cook it in the oven at a low temperature for a long time . . . a sort of roast, I guess, that has aspirations of imitating barbecue. It's a rather plain way of doing it, but quite tasty for all that.

That sounds nice! I'm going to be braising it-- submerging it in red wine and cooking it low and slow. Not very fancy either, but the wine gives it richness that I like.
