No, he didn't. [Very softly.] His team mate was kidnapped and he and Kakashi-sensei went after her. The foe was an Iwa nin who used a Doton jutsu to make the cave he'd held Rin in collapse. Obito was ..crushed by one of the boulders when he saved Kakashi-sensei's life.
He's such a brave boy and a damned good shinobi. You should be proud. Part of him still lives on in Kakashi-sensei. He changed him, you see? He adopted a lot of Obito's traits.
I think he's changed us, too. Knowing him makes us better people.
[After a long moment of silence.] I don't want you to be alone. Can you come on back? Or I can go to you for a little while, but I want to be there for you.

But there's something you should know. I didn't want to bring it up while he was here and upset him, but you have a right to know.
He died in battle. I was curious about Kakashi-sensei's team mates and did some digging in the library while I was there.
It's.. it's very sad, but he wasn't a part of that.
