What did everyone think? I've had about two minutes to process and I'm still in that kind of immediate afterglow of having these characters back in my life. I might need a few more minutes before I can put together a proper review! Post your thoughts/flail/incoherent RAMBLE in the comments! If you write reviews at your own journals, feel free to ( Read more... )

I agree that there are definitely undertones of 'sad' through this. I actually really like that we're getting to see a character so much BEFORE the events in Breaking Bad. It's a nice contrast, given the other similarities between the two shows, that instead of coming in right as things start to shift, we get to see Jimmy be Jimmy for while... it really is working to establish 'Saul' as the mask Jimmy needed to wear to put one foot in front of the other each day. I am very keen to see how it all unfolds.

I was hesitant to post anything for this thread. I know pilots are used to set everything up so it's rare to see a pilot that hits the ground running. I will say I really didn't see that ending coming! I'm probably going to avoid spoilers for Saul like I did with BB. I really enjoyed the second episode and can't wait to tune in next week to see what happens. I'm very interested in seeing more from the Chuck character and his storyline.

I'm glad you did, I could talk about this ALL DAY!

While I agree that the pilot did hit the ground running, I also think, in some ways, it's doing so less than BrBa did? As I (tried) to explain above, I like that they're taking time to establish Jimmy as Jimmy. If that makes sense.

I am DEFINITELY going to avoid spoilers. In fact, I'll be sure to include NO SPOILER requests for the comments sections of these episode discussions from now on, just to keep us safe!
