Party!!!, Purposefully Creepy Mansion, Friday Evening

It was Halloween and that meant one thing: there was a party at the mansion.

Okay, it probably meant more than just one thing, but for Mike? Yeah, that one thing was the most important one. Kinda trumped everything else. Unlike last year, he hadn't had help from April, so the level of overall gore and genuine creepiness was a little lower. But

"Only heard of it." Éponine got the implication of the question, though. "I've missed out on something everyone knows about, haven't I?"

"But what is it?" persisted Éponine, laughing; she wouldn't even try to deny that she was all kinds of amused at Kitty's reaction. "Not a book, if you're asking if I haven't seen it, and anyway even I've been reading a lot I've hardly caught up to everything yet! Though if it's a television program of some sort, I haven't got one of those yet."

This was not a hipster thing, just a hadn't-gotten-around-to-it thing.

"It's a movie. Or really, a series of movies. All about, well, space battles and stuff. It's a classic." She wouldn't speak outside the original trilogy because she had Opinions On Those Movies.

"Oh, well, there are worse ways to spend an entire day," Éponine decided. "God knows, I'm sure we all have." She was maybe still a little bit bitter about the evil carnival.

"Seriously." Kitty would go with 'dungeon' there, though. Or... a lot of days with the X-Men. "At least this is fun, and you can order pizza and eat junk food while doing it."

Oh, Éponine could come up with a lot more examples but the narrative would be way too depressing if she did.

"If we can eat at the same time, then I'm all for it," she announced pretty much immediately. "D'you really want to do this, then?"

"You must like them, if you seem that excited about seeing them again!" Oh, like Éponine could talk. There were a couple of books back in her warehouse that she'd already read to pieces. "Sundays are usually best, I think. It's the only day I don't have to work at all, but I'm out in time for a late lunch on Saturdays, too."

Irene wasn't usually much of a Halloween person, but this year she'd made an exception. It helped that her costume was adorable, if a little...poofier than she'd usually prefer.

She was totally prepared to shoot little foam arrows at people all night, too.
