Seriously have you invaded my brain because your thoughts/reactions pretty much mirror mine, lol.
Is it wrong to be surprised that The Borgias also got completely shut out? It's like The Tudors (well, mainly only Natalie Dormer) getting shunned all over again, and The Borgias I think is a much better show overall too. As well as the rest of the amazing actors on GoT. I mean damn, Sean Bean especially had one shot to get in since his character was killed off and all (still crying over that btw) Oh well *sigh* Totally rooting for Peter Dinklage to get the win though, go bb go

tbh, i didn't expect much for the borgias. it's been good so far but i think people look at it more as a guilty pleasure rather than a serious show. it does have a ton of respected actors in it, but i think GoT stole all the thunder for period shows.
i don't even get these Glee nominations. the show has definitely decreased in popularity since it started. i suppose there aren't THAT many comedies to nominate but anything is better than Glee. and yes, i hate when actors use really dramatic storylines to win Emmys in the comedy category.
I love Dexter & Boardwalk to death, but GoT has such an awesomely strong fanbase that I'd love to see it win some stuff. TBBT...I mean, it makes me laugh every week because the actors are good and a lot of the lines are funny, but it's definitely lacking when it comes to, like, actual plot development and stories. Way too many episodes are just throwaway plots that mean nothing by the next one, y'know? And believe me, the Glee backlash has not hit the mainstream. Normal non-internetty people still just think it's super-awesome. IDK why. Very bitter that Hugh didn't get his Emmy back when the show was great, because he deserved it for a while there

I'm sure GoT will get some technical awards, but it would be crazy awesome if it managed to upset for Best Drama (probably more likely at the Golden Globes though). I have no idea why they suddenly decided to nominated TBBT for Best Comedy cause the show used to be a lot better and they ignored it back then. And yes, Hugh deserved an Emmy back when the show was at its best.
I would love to see Steve win this year, but he seems like another Hugh Laurie type who gets nominated a million times but never wins (hopefully the sentimentality this year will help him though.
I'm both happy and relieved for GoT. I was very scared it wouldn't make it for Best Drama but its nomination haul this year gives me hope that if it continues to be quality, it might even get more nods later on (especially Season 3). Modern Family is such a runaway winner for that category, imo.
