The Love Triangle: Derek-Meredith-Addison
Okay, so I was pretty much just a casual fan of Grey's in Season 1. Like it was that show right after Desperate Housewives and I watched fairly consistently, but then.... that SEASON FINALE SHOCKER + the first 6 episodes of Season 2 pretty much made me an obsessive fan. It's not even funny how ridiculously addicted to this show I was in Season 2. And the storyline that did the trick = Derek/Meredith/Addison love triangle. Of course, I was also interested in Alex/Izzie (and also Denny) and Burke/Cristina but seriously, that love triangle got me so hooked.
Reasons why I loved it:
1. I was getting really invested in Derek/Meredith throughout Season 1 and the season finale literally left you wondering what all that was about (Was McDreamy just a lying, cheating jerk?). And I was definitely hooked when Meredith made her "pick me, choose me, love me" speech cause it was just so open and honest.
2. Addison turned out to be a freakin' amazing character, thanks in no small part to the awesomely talented Kate Walsh. When she first showed up, she seemed like such a cold bitch. Like who cheats on her husband with his best friend? That should NOT have been a sympathetic character but somehow, Kate Walsh totally won me over.
3. It wasn't stupidly contrived like a lot of TV love triangles and it felt different from what had been done before. I could actually see why Derek would be really conflicted about this. Yeah, he loves Meredith now but he also has this 11 year marriage
to Addison that maybe deserved another chance...
4. The fallout was beautifully drawn-out. Nowadays, I feel like writers just want to jet through storylines as fast as possible. This was some great drama that lasted a whole season.

Episode 5: Bring the Pain
"Okay, here it is, your choice... it's simple, her or me, and I'm sure she is really great. But Derek, I love you, in a really, really big pretend to like your taste in music, let you eat the last piece of cheesecake, hold a radio over my head outside your window, unfortunate way that makes me hate you, love you. So pick me. Choose me. Love me."
Episode 6: Into You Like a Train
"She's my wife"
Obviously, it was far from over...
