I've always wanted to check out Fable, and now I want to look at Persepolis and Mother, Come Home. This is a great list, and I especially like the "If you like..." style. Thanks!

You would like both Fables and Persepolis and the MPL carries both :)

I'll have to check them out. They'd be quickies to add to my 50 Book Challenge list. I'm thinking of revising my standpoint on audiobooks, since I can't review them separately, and since I'm so behind (on book #23).

After reading the "Bitch" article, I picked up Fun Home by Allison Bechdel (who does Dykes to Watch Out For. It was excellent!

I don't consider myself a comic book girl anymore
(I don't have the money for it) but I've read almost
all of these. It's a shame I had to move to realize
what an amazing graphic novel selection the library
where I lived really was.

Mother come home was amazing and sad and beautiful
and very very well done

Wow, that is a very helpful article. I wish my library had more GNx. It's depressing.

I'm really lucky with my public library. I have yet to encounter a title that I want that they don't have or won't get if you request it.

What a great article! Thanks for posting it, I think I'll check some of these out - Fray, at the very least, but the Fables and Carnet de Voyage sound good as well. And the format of it meant that I had no hesitation in skipping over the 4th rec :)

I like both Fables and Carnet de Voyage (Thompson's Blankets is also good).
