The past few days have been so nice. Both of us have enjoyed all the many congratulations we've received and conversations with people about the engagement. That is great advice. I made some hasty decisions, and I don't regret them, but might have done something different if I hadn't launched into planning so excitedly. And you know we will all be here with lots of suggestions if you ever need more advice. :)

Besides the whole lifelong commitment to the person I love part, my favorite part of the engagement/wedding process was how much everyone pulled together for us and how happy they were. It was so fun and heartwarming!

You guys will be a life saver, I'm sure! A big difference for me is that I've already planned one wedding, so I don't feel the need (or think it's very appropriate) for me to do something traditional. But, this is his first (and only!) wedding, so I want his family to get some of the experience they want too...

you know, I really wasn't sure what to expect with the whole marriage thing but I really didn't expect the outpouring of love and support from my community. dunno why - I have a GREAT community! but I guess the whole public acknowledgement of everything caught me by surprise! it was super humbling.

It really has been wonderful. Sadly, I encountered my first friend who isn't so happy for us. She's the last one I expected it from, hopefully she will get over it.

oh, man! my mantra these days is: "I trust you to react in a way that reflects your character." it's not about you, I'm SURE. it's a shame your friend can't be more generous of spirit right now!

I'm sure by next week she'll be embarrassed by her behavior. I'll just give her space.

it's ok to not be in love with the planning, i think most people understand. you can always delegate to the people who care more, if you truly don't mind what the outcome is.

Very true and Nick's mom would love to do as much as I let her. If she wants to pay for it, I say go ahead!
