Culture Shock

For the first time in my 22 years of visiting Brazil I experienced culture shock. Last night, my eldest cousin, Tatiana, and her boyfriend came over and had dinner with my aunt, grandmother, other cousin, and myself. Just say something next time. Nothing like a fiery debate amongst family members. I was the only one in my [Cuban] family who thought that Elian should be shipped first class back to Cuba. Wow, that was interesting.

Oh, I sooo know what you're talking about. People know not to discuss that issue around me b/c I blow up at anybody who even considers denying gays the right to marriage. It's absurd. I'm not going to go into it b/c I could go on forever but . . . I know my family has similar views to yours and I'm glad they haven't brought it up in conversation yet b/c I'm not as disciplined as you.
