His sleepy eyes squirmed as an unexpected pain in his back overwhelmed him, waking him up from his long nap. The brown-hair boy found himself flat on his stomach on the comfy king-size bed; his back was probably hurting because of the position he was sleeping in. He heard noises of shoes’ heels tapping against the marbled floor, slow and slightly dragging.

“I can’t believe you skipped lunch for this,” a voice complained.

“Isn’t he supposed to be locked up?” another voice followed.

Yamada shifted his head, burying his face to the nearest pillow he could reach out, grunting softly as he refused to move, or even change his position over. He curled modestly underneath the thick, warm duvet, missing a warm bed where he could rest without having to worry about the uncomfortable haystack like he did the night before.

“Lunch anyone?” Inoo spoke again, the sound of the curtain being opened made Yamada winced, even more when the bright day light shone through to the gigantic room.

“Inoo-chan… shut up… And Keito, drag Inoo-chan out of my room.”

“Oh don’t you dare. You work for me,” Inoo responded.

“But he hired me?” Keito answered almost right away.

He felt the bed he was laying on moving, a hand resting on the back of his waist the next second as it became warmer underneath the duvet with the person besides him snuggling his way to Yamada. He turned his head; eyes struggled unwillingly to open up, finding the face of his owner just inches away from him.

Breathing steadily, Yamada felt his eyes slowly but surely shutting down again, joining Daiki to just go back to sleep, not caring if his stomach hadn’t been filled with anything but a hard French bread for the past twenty-four hours. He rolled to face the other side, finally shifting from his original position, feeling how Daiki adjusted to the change by hugging Yamada from behind - his hand resting on the younger boy’s belly.

As the two of them shifted on the fluffy bed, the edge of the duvet slipped off a bit, letting the chill temperature of the room to slither in, sending breeze to Yamada’s exposed shoulders. He heard Daiki groaned in protest at the cold, the duvet was soon pulled up to cover their bodies just like it was by the older boy… only to make Inoo and Keito who entered the room shriek in horror.

“Dai-chan!!! What the…?!” Inoo exclaimed.

“Oh Lord…” Keito followed, sounded just as shocked as Inoo but somewhat a lot subtler.

“Now what?!” Daiki sat up, the bed moved as he did so.

Yamada opened his eyes again, almost instantly this time, his brain finally able to made up a reason as of why Inoo and Keito screeched when the duvet fell off. Panic clearly attacked him, his hand quickly pulling the duvet this time over his head, hiding underneath it while wishing that the earth would just swallow him to its deepest core because he couldn’t bare the embarrassment that he felt.

“Clothes! Where the hell are your… oh my God!” Inoo gasped almost dramatically. “Keito, go collect the clothes from the floor and force them to wear them again!”

“I didn’t sign for a baby sitting job…” Keito mumbled.

“Just do it!”

The weight that was next to him left him and the bed, causing him to pop his head out from the duvet out of curiosity. He saw Daiki crawling off from the mattress, grabbing the clothes that Keito was collecting and trying to get to them right away as he mumbled random sentences of complaints.

“Quit the hysteria. You’re not a dad that just found his son naked on his own bed with another dude,” Daiki rolled his eyes.

“I don’t have to be your dad to freak out about this!”

“I hope this didn’t happen to Ryutaro when he first got locked up,” Keito mumbled randomly, taking the rest of the clothes that were Yamada’s.

“KEITO!” Inoo screamed.

“I was just bloody joking.”

The well-built boy walked over to the bed, sitting by the side of it with his hand handing the clothes to Yamada. Yamada could feel his cheek flushing, crimson colour creeping on his fair skin, almost as if they were turning him into some sort of pink fiesta. Keito didn’t say a thing as he watched Yamada getting back to his clothes, but it was clear on his face that he was wondering just why on earth did he had to find the two of them in such situation.

“Dai-chan... I can’t believe that you just… What am I supposed to say to your mum?” Inoo tipsily tried to find his way to the bed, sitting next to Keito while his hand massaging his temple.

“Nothing? Don’t tell her anything? And you’ve been nagging me my whole to just admit it that I’m gay! What’s with the big shock?!”

“I don’t know! I keep on nagging you about it because your mum told me to! And the part where you slept with your pet wasn’t on the plan!” Inoo frowned.

“Wait, what? She knows?!”

“Everyone in the house knows!”

Daiki froze, blinking not believing what his butler just told him. He turned to his side, his jaw fell as he raised his hands and rested them on his scalp. “I…” he muttered, eyes shifting from the floor to Inoo, then to Keito, and then to Yamada. Without saying a thing, Daiki made his way to the door, closing the door loudly as he left the room.

“Well, that went well,” Keito commented.

The room went from hectic and loud into awkward. With only him left alone there with the other two boys, Yamada realised that the attention would be drifted to him eventually. When the two boys finally turned their head to Yamada, he contemplated the option to crawl to the furthest end of the bed, away from them.

Their eyes were pretty judgemental, definitely not in a way that would make Yamada’s stomach feel at ease. Inoo sighed, somewhat patting Yamada’s head as he stood up; his arms were crossed against his chest while his eyes were fixed on Yamada. It felt rather worse than being locked up in the barn if Yamada had to be honest.

“And just why on earth did you let him do that?” Inoo asked.

“He’s my owner. I can’t say no, can I?”

“Of course you can. You’re a pet, not a slave,” Inoo rolled his eyes.

“But he said he was going to disown me!” Yamada defended himself.

“He was what?”

“… going to disown me. That’s why I let him do whatever he wanted to so that he wouldn’t…” Yamada mumbled.

The other two persons went quiet, Inoo pressing his forehead to the nearest wall he could get while Keito only rubbed the back of his neck with an awkward smile on his face. When Inoo ended up leaving the two of them inside, Yamada didn’t know what he had done wrong (putting aside the fact that he let Daiki has his way).

“I messed up, didn’t I?” Yamada asked, head low as he inched to the edge of the bed.

“Pretty much,” the other boy answered honestly. “It would be easier for Daiki-san to keep you if he hadn’t slept with you.”

“How so?”

“Oh you, daft. Now he’s going to be emotionally attached. More reason for him to disown you, mate.”

“I don’t understand,” Yamada frowned.

Keito cocked his head as he rolled his eyes, jumping down from the bed while shaking his head. “Let’s just eat our lunch, shall we?”

Nodding, Yamada took the last piece of clothes that he hadn’t put on - his parka. Slowly he stood up, stepping forward while trying to slip his arms into his parka sleeves because Spring was clearly a lot colder in that house compare to the big city or that humid basement. But before he could take his second step, Yamada solidified on the spot, wincing with a small grumble of pain escaped from his lips.

There was a whole minute of silence as the two of them stared at each other, Yamada couldn’t express why he suddenly just stopped on the spot to Keito at all. Enough embarrassment for one day, he told himself, and now he had to face the pain in his bum. Literally.

But when Keito shook his head, Yamada could sense that maybe he didn’t have to say anything because the taller boy seemed to know the reason of this weird situation they were in anyway. Keito was a smart boy; he wouldn’t have to think more than ten seconds to come out with a correct analysis.

“Do you need help walking?” Keito asked.

“Y-yes…” he answered, his cheeks once again reddening.

“… of course…” a chuckle escaped from Keito’s lips, once again shaking his head, this time in amusement.

It was embarrassing to walk to the kitchen with him holding for his dear life by clinging to Keito that was supporting him. It was even more awkward when the whole kitchen was looking at him as they entered, causing Yamada to smile gawkily to them, not wanting anyone to ask him just why on earth he needed Keito to walk him there.

Ryutaro seemed to be interested in investigating Yamada from head to toe, his seat felt a lot closer than how it used to. He gulped each time he caught Ryutaro staring at him, not even caring if Yamada noticed it, keeping his eyes on the older boy as he munched to his lunch.

“Never knew the barn was that harsh,” Ryutaro commented. “That’s like my hang out place.”

“That’s because you got locked up all the time,” Yamada answered, his lips pursed.

“Exactly my point. I don’t understand why Keito-kun had to help you to walk.”

He turned to his food, decided that might as well ignore Ryutaro if he wanted to go through the day. When Inoo walked in with an empty tray, he went to get his share and placed his plate in front of Yamada, digging to his food while standing, not where he usually ate his lunch on, like on the other table with the rest of the staff like Yuto or Hikaru.

It made Yamada felt even more judged, the curry rice he was eating suddenly looked really unappetising and his hand was stirring randomly to it. At least his growling stomach managed to force him to finish his lunch, no matter how much he felt Inoo’s eyes were piercing at him, right through his flesh and bones.

Yamada didn’t waste his time once he was done with his food, putting the plate to the sink while limping and trying his best to make it without fail to the staff dining or kitchen hall’s door (Yamada still couldn’t decide what it was). If he had to be honest, he didn’t mind the pain. He had experienced worse physically with all the beating each time he did something wrong back in the basement. Yet, the thought of going back or getting a new owner was horrifying and he would do anything to keep him there.

“Careful…” Yuto suddenly showed up.

The taller boy looked rather concerned, his hands were on the side of Yamada’s arms, helping him to walk. A smile crafted on Yamada’s face, knowing that Yuto was just the type that would help without even asking him what had happened.

“I can walk, really,” said Yamada, laughing.

“You don’t look like you can.”

“I can, I can. It’s just not comfortable. That’s all to it,” he chuckled.

Yuto insisted to walk him back to his room even when he wasn’t actually that far from it. The sore starting to wear off as he got used to move with the slight pain, knowing that it wasn’t really something that actually would make him cry or anything at all.

The other boy carefully led Yamada to his bed, smiling a little as he managed to before then walking to the window to at least pull the transparent curtain close so that the bright day light sun wouldn’t make the room too bright or hot

“Have you showered?” he asked.

“I have. This morning, after Daiki-san picked me up. You should see his bathroom. It’s almost as big as our room,” Yamada answered, taking his shoes off so that he could pull his legs onto the bed.

“Oh, yeah. I’ve seen it,” Yuto chuckled. “So at last, huh?”

“Hm?”

“Daiki-san… being a little bit less harsh? Not that he was harsh to begin with, but at least he has stopped trying to,” said Yuto, stepping closer to the bed and settling down on the other end.

“Yeah…” he replied with a smile, remembering what happened after he got back from the barn earlier that morning.

“When we were in high school, he was like the small senpai that just couldn’t shut up. It annoyed me a little at first, but it got really quiet without him,” Yuto relaxed himself on the bed, taking his shoes off so he could imitate Yamada’s position.

“You went to the same high school as Daiki-san?”

“Yeah. Ari-chan… that’s how I used to call him in public,” Yuto chuckled.

“Eh?”

Yamada blinked, finding the nickname awfully familiar. He watched the way Yuto sat with his lips pursed forward, giving a somewhat hesitating feeling towards the way he didn’t seem to want to look at Yamada’s face. Yamada straightened his legs, nudging the side of Yuto’s skinny hip with his toe, demanding details.

“Tell me more,” Yamada demanded.

Chuckling, Yuto shifted in his seat, facing Yamada with his legs pulled up and his arms around them. A soothing smile, his trademark, curved to him as he awkwardly checked if the room’s door where already closed from where he sat.

“Don’t tell anyone okay?”

“I promise.”

“Okay. I trust you anyway,” Yuto said, taking a deep breath before giving Yamada any details. “You know, Chii… I mean Chinen, the one that you visited yesterday? He was my classmate, and technically Daiki-san… or Ari-chan, since I’m letting you know anyway, was my senpai, simply for the fact that I wasn’t bought from any center or basement. I was bought from my parents.”

“Your parents? Wait… as in? You were…?”

“I was just like Ari-chan and Chii. From a nice, quite financially capable family. Things just went wrong of course, and they need money. Arioka-san wanted to lend my parents money, but they do not want any more debts, so I offered my self to this house,” Yuto answered casually. “Unlike others, I’m on annually renewed contract. My salary all goes to my parents and I will only end it once they manage to pay their debts. No one knows but the Ariokas, by the way.”

“Why are you telling me this then?” Yamada frowned.

“Because I can assure you that I know Ari-chan really well, especially since even until now, we consider each other as friends and not as an employer and his employee.”

“Your point?” he grimaced again.

“My point is… I know how much he likes you. And I can tell that Inoo-kun does to, that’s why he didn’t seem to mention a thing about what he and Keito discovered.”

“Wait… you know about that?” Yamada’s eyes widened up, unconsciously took a few inch back, away from Yuto.

“I do. Who do you think Ari-chan ran to after Inoo and Keito caught the two of you?” Yuto grinned.

“So he told you? Oh god!”

“Anyway… if you likes him the way he likes you… free yourself. Let him disown you,” Yuto stood up, gathering his shoes from the floor.

Yamada looked down, gulping a little at the idea of being disowned. He knew that unless someone else bought him from the Ariokas, he might have to go back to the basement, or if he had the guts to, wondering around the big city and see if anyone wanted to hire him (which really seemed to be hard because he wasn’t that skilful in anything at all). What scared him the most was that he wouldn’t be able to meet these lovely people any more, or Daiki for that matter. “I don’t want to go back to the basement…” he mumbled.

“You won’t. Someone else is already wanting you back,” Yuto smiled, patting Yamada’s shoulder as he left.

…what? Yamada turned his face to the door, dying to ask Yuto what he meant by that, but the taller boy had closed the door and disappeared.
