He attends church pretty regularly and is well respected.
He is financially honest.
He is fair in all of his business dealings. 
He never extorts money from other people.
He is married and he is sexually faithful to his wife.
He is considered to be a morally upright person.

Phew, this really gets you doesn't it. I mean it really makes me think, brings me to the question that is really healthy to ask from time to time: "Am I phariseic?"
But then there's that other question: "Am I entertaining sinful habits in my life?"
What is the balance between these two questions??? Is the life a Christian something like a boomerang between these two?

I am still learning that the truly Christian life is a daily calling for me to be humbly "poured out" - like what the Children of Israel would give regularly to The Most High in a "drink offering". In the last couple of years on mission trips to locales where I had to be careful in not drinking the water (see how hard it is to not use your faucet's running tap water in rinsing your toothbrush before you go to sleep tonight), have I begun to see the faith that would be required to take the most precious substance for survival in a harsh desert environment, water, and to just pour it out onto the ground as an offering to God ( ... )
