As someone who does more consumption than creation on the internet in general, I do feel a certain nostalgia for the systems of yesteryear: I follow friends on LJ and Tumblr, and even as a consumer I can see some of the not-so-great changes that have been made. Now everyone seems to have substacks and mediums and who knows what else, but the new platforms seem more oriented around building a personal brand than starting good conversations/interactions.
No matter what you end up choosing, I'll subscribe to it/add it to my feed, so follow your heart.
Well, I'd probably be moving only over to DreamWidth, which is basically just old-school LiveJournal (complete with some of the original staff!).
Whatever I wind up doing, I'll certainly make sure it's clear what's going on--I've been disappointed too many times by regular posters/commenters simply disappearing, and have no desire to put anyone else through the same.
