Love it. John POV when his children are young and growing up in this strange way (a way that is and isn't of his own design) is one of my favorite heartbreaking, understated things. This is a wonderful expression of that.<3

One of the things I find fascinating about this not-so-little AU that deadlybride and I have been slowly constructing is that it opens a whole new vein of stuff to explore--things that are hinted at in canon as unrealized potentials, both past and future, the one step sideways just enough to make everything new and fresh again.
