I meant to text you about that; so he is helping you thus far, yes? Good good good. Fill me in on all the long, boring details!

And sadly, Perú seems to just keep leaving my digestive system... and leaving... and leaving some more. Every 90 minutes. Ick. Hopefully that will go away soon!

Yesssss, come back here asap please. We didn't go thrifting either, and I need to soak up some Jessica like you wouldn't believe! (Thankfully, you are lower in both sodium and seagull poop than the beach.)

Let me know where to point my firebombs in the meantime; they are at the ready. Have you seen this mysterious and elusive Note yet??

Perú, in short, is an entire country seemingly bursting with the beautiful sound of "OH, FUCK IT."

shit, that's my kind of place.

and welcome back; i can't wait to read more awesomeness, even if everything i've heard about chicha makes me want to run screaming into a bottle of tequila for refuge.

Hahahhaha. Oh, gawd, neau. Chicha morada is a pleasing strained puree made from purple corn and sugar and cinnamon and other tastinesses; CHICHA is that weirdass mountain liquor the peasants make with their saliva. BIG IMPORTANT DIFFERENCE.

Although... I sorta wanted to try chicha too, but uh, I think I brought home enough strange parasitic bacteria for one trip. ;)

aha! this is a crucial difference. chicha: la bebida del diablo. chicha morada: la de los angeles. or at least drinkable.

now i must find some to add to my pile of obscure liquors. i'll take the version without the parasites. :)

Aye, papi. ;) It's damn good, I wonder if the ONLY Peruvian restaurant in Sarasota serves it. It's sort of like... Peru's version of horchata.

Yay! We missed you much! You should so become a travel writer, darling. So vivid! Peru could teach us all a good lesson, it seems. Sounds like it was just what the doctor ordered (thus far).

I had a fantastic time. It was even rather nice to bond with the parental units. And watch my mom look like an idiot on a whole new continent! Ha. I kid.

THAT WOULD BE MY DREAM JOB. Where do I sign????

(Actually, the paper is using some of my photos and might also print some of the journal, too; we'll see what comes of that.)

Just don't use that precious copy to wipe your ass or light any camp fires :D
