Seventeen hours later and my throat is still sore and crisp from the gunpowder slow-smoking we were subject to last night. Not that I'm complaining, because the awesome half-hour fireworks show at Faith Baptist Church was really, really worth it--they outdo themselves every year. Yeah, when we were in the thick of the gunpowder cloud and couldn't see more than 12 feet in front of us, I was getting a little claustrophobic (and hickory-smoked). But it was totally worth it. And there are more festivities to look forward to tomorrow! Whee!

I agree, it's been miserable out with the mosquitoes lately. Have I mentioned that my hub is allergic to insect bites? It is his particular cross to bear that he is also apparently the World's Tastiest Human to most bugs. But on the upshot, at least I get fewer bites when he's around. :)
