*jumping up and down*
I am very excited to see this film, and after reading this review I must say that I have high hopes for it! :D Sounds like David Yates really has his head on straight re: the heart of the story. The review doesn't really spoil much for the movie, but nevertheless
don't click if you are worried... By the way, there are two

It's nice to hear that the effects are not annoyingly overdone like in GoF and that they've managed to capture the political corruption and that Dumbledore is indeed keeping his distance as he does in the book.
I've also noticed, from mentions in this article and from the trailers, that they've made an effort to include things they could have easily cut or ignored. Things like the umbrella stand, the twins apparating all over the house, the Black Family Tree, Luna's raddish earrings, etc. Maybe this will make up for the atrocities that are Teen!Marauders and Teen!Lily.
Thanks for posting this. And sorry for the editorial I just wrote. *sigh* :P

I'm with you: I'm glad the designers are paying attention to all the little details. I mean, there are SO MANY FANS out here who know the books inside and out that they really need to stay on top of those things, eh?
I can only hope that Teen!Marauders and Teen!Lily come across better in action than they have in the photos. Urgh.
*applauds your editorial* :D

Yes, I applaud the set designers for remembering the fans, but I want to flay the costume and hair people. I mean, honestly - wait, no, I don't need to go there again. ;)
I don't know if Teen!Marauders and Teen!Lily could possibly come off worse than they have in those photos. If they somehow do, I will die of disappointment.
*blushes*
Thanks.

I'm in a writing workshop this week --actually a workshop on going from storytelling orally to the written word. The storyteller leading it pointed out that the Hollywood suits were surprised that the first HP movie was not a block buster. He attributed it to all the book lovers being disppointed that the book didn't match their internal pictures--their own movie. Thus, no repeat ticket buying. I can relate to that. Although the young trio are so adorable!

I'm actually not going til Friday, because a friend and I have decided to play HP trivia (and hopefully win cash!) at Buffalo Wild Wings before we see the film. Have fun with your daughter! Can't wait to share opinions on the film with you. :)
Writing workshop!! *can't stop grinning* You must tell all. ;)

How very, very interesting. I think that's true. Every so often I go back and re-watch the films, but I have to admit I often fall asleep towards the end. Is that horrible of me to admit? *feels a traitor* ;)

We did have fun (I was pleasantly surprised, after the not so great GoF), and the best part was that she mentioned that she should read the books! She really has only discovered the pleasure of reading this year. She's now in the middle of a Pride and Prejudice fanfic book that she has really enjoyed. She's a very careful and very slow reader. Great comprehension, just very slow! Reading for school was torture. I'm so glad she has come to this so soon, because she had to do it herself.
I'm leaving this afternoon for my early music camp, and so will be away from the internet for a couple of weeks. I'll probably have a few chances to check email, etc., but not much.
Happy writing, reading and hope you enjoy the movie, too.
