Kennedy was supposed to be home in New York tonight, helping with the last few days of moving preparations. In fact, that was what she'd been doing, but apparently all her well-meaning offers of assistance were really just wreaking havoc on Willow's carefully constructed System. So, she'd been persuaded (like that was hard) to go out and patrol, ( Read more... )

Well, Bobby wasn't a girl, but come on. Like that was gonna stop him.

He briefly considered putting on a wig or something, though. But in the end he vetoed that idea. So now he was just sliding in to the booth next to Kennedy. "Whatever happens, don't let me suggest any impromptu trips anywhere," he advised.

"Certainly," Raven said. "What do you have?"

Was she going to regret this?

"Shark Attack," Bobby explained. "It's- blueberry, I think. And some strawberry." For the 'blood' resting at the bottom of the glass, naturally.

"That is a rather gruesome name," Raven said, making a bit of a face at what the strawberry must represent. Ewww. "But I suppose it is somewhat appropriate given what has been happening in Fandom this week."

She accepted Bobby's glass and took a sip. "Oh, it is good. I like the fruitiness."

Karla had to talk to Bobby. Had to.

"What's this about slashing?" she asked, sidling up to him with a drink in her hand and an eyebrow arched with amusement. "Two minutes of it, what?"

"You can't just hit someone in the knees with your stick, Karla. That's a penalty."

"Why can't I?" Karla said, not knowing why she was hitting someone in the knees with a stick or particularly caring. "Should I aim for the shins, then? I could probably whack someone good in the shins."

"Nope," Bobby said. "Not unless you want another penalty. That's the rules."

"Those rules are stupid," Karla decided. "I do what I want. Including hitting people with sticks. Because I can." Beat. "Who am I hitting with a stick? And why? Or is this all kind of hypothetical?"

"Because it's part of the rules?" Bobby rolled his eyes. "In hockey. You can't just do what you want, that's not really the point of the game."

"Ohhhhh!" Karla said, enlightenment dawning. "Why didn't you say so?! Of course you can't if it's hockey."

You should have said that from the beginning, Bobby. Duh.

"Well-" Bobby shook his head a little. "- I'm glad you agree, then."

"I thought you meant like a fight," Karla explained. Because that would help, right? "I mean, if I were fighting someone, I'd probably take a stick to their knees, regardless of what the rules were."

"Why am I not surprised?"

"I think it's because we've met," Karla said, thoughtfully. "Yeah, I'm pretty sure it's that."

"Personally, I think the wig might have suited. Maybe we all want to meet your secret twin sister Bobbina?"

Emma, stop reading people's brains. It was drinking time, not pick-on-Bobby-time.
