The morning had been a liiiiiittle awkward, yes, but now? Now Tara had cake. Chocolate cake. It came courtesy fighting with powers class, and it went well with unplanned weddings between six-year-olds.

"Hey," she greeted from the doorway. "Uh, I have cake, unless you're going to go under the bed and stay there. But that's usually more my department."

"Not hiding," Kennedy called in a muffled voice. She started to sit up, bumped her head on the bedframe, and swore under her breath before slumping back against the side of the nightstand. "Bailey's the one in massive hideout mode."

She rubbed absently at the back of her head and grinned crookedly. "Cake, huh? Not special-occasion cake, or...?"

"It's 'Professor Max hit his head before the final' cake," Tara explained. "He m-made us bake. It came out yummy, though. Chocolate."

She shrugged. "I don't think I want to call it wedding cake, do you?"

Kennedy managed a strained laugh and drew her knees up to her chest, fidgeting just a little. "Um... yeah, I think I can live without calling it that. Which doesn't make it any less yummy, though, right?"

Under the edge of the bed, a tentatively twitchy rabbit nose slowly started to creep into view, presumably followed by the rest of the rabbit.

"...wow, six-year-old us really needed to cut back on the sugar."
