I am so damn tired of roommates it's not even funny. Two days ago, I find the toilet paper on the rack empty, with a just-started roll sitting on top of the garbage can.  Yesterday, I come home to an unflushed toilet full of poop and toilet paper; sugar spilled on the counter and not wiped up; and unrinsed, dirty tupperware sealed on the counter ( Read more... )

Sorry sweetie. Amongst us old farts there's a saying that 30 is the new 20. I suppose it's due to a lot of people of my generation being helicopter parents and doing everything for their little darlings, so they're ill prepared to function politely in the real world...

Good luck.

Hey, I read random journals. You don't know me. But as someone who got sick of roommates years ago- do it. I lived in a studio apartment. It was like living in a walk in closet but even then it was way better than a nice house with other people. The mess is all yours, you dont have their stuff in your space, and you learn to love walking around sans pants. Besides- living alone is something everyone has to do in their lives, like going to Europe. My mother never lived alone and she talks about it wistfully and often. "If I ever win the lottery...". Even if you find roommates that are just as tidy and anal as you (I'm not calling you anal, just sayin') they will do things to get on your nerves. And you will probably get on their nerves.

Though next month I am moving in with my boyfriend after years of living alone. But I can totally boss him around so it's not as bad.
